The Right Combination: Turning Traffic Signals into Platforms

 

ITS Plus integrates the latest intelligent transportation systems (ITS) products and sensors into traffic signals to improve transportation mobility,  reduce traffic congestion and improve public safety. Targeting Departments of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) applications, ITS Plus delivers a superior product at a lower cost that offers aesthetically pleasing tie-ins from public works and transportation systems to municipal telecom and emergency management centers.

 

The ITS Plus Sensor Platform offers video cameras, communications links, video stop bar detection, advanced detection, vehicle counts and sensors for DOT and DHS applications. Embedded video cameras and sensors are invisible to pedestrian and to the motoring public. These sensors may be linked to a 911 emergency center or transportation management center to establish a network of enhanced awareness.

 

Working with all major video detection vendors, the ITS Plus video detection solution offers the same functionality at a fraction of the cost. The video detection enables improved traffic flow resulting in reduction of traffic congestion, lower fuel consumption, fewer pollutants and an improvement in air quality. 

 

Flexibility is built-in and permits the addition of DOT and DHS sensors at any time to improve public safety and increase security at half the cost of typical video/communications stand-alone systems. We do this by utilizing our proprietary designs and unique understanding of DOT and DHS requirements. Our Power Line Modems will enable even faster installs and the deliver video communications to the cabinet without any additional power lines to be pulled. The Power Line Modems are in final testing and will be available in the near future.
